EKATERINA   STOYANOV
In 1974 I graduated with an MFA degree from the University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, where I  specialized in painting.  I use a variety of media – oil, tempera, watercolor.  My model teachers are the masters of the brush: Raphael, Rubens, Toulouse Lautrec, Renoir. My artistic talent has found expression in many forms:  before I graduated from the university I was working as a window designer and art museum curator.  During 1974-1983 together with my husband Michael – a fellow artist – I was commissioned to execute numerous projects for exterior city decoration for several state institutions in Bulgaria. I participated in most national juried exhibitions through the 1970s and 1980s.  My work has been purchased for the permanent collections of art museums in Veliko Tarnovo and Sofia.

In 1992 I immigrated together with my familyto the United States, where, after several years of active participation in the Twin Cities art scene, I and my husband were granted permanent residence status on the basis of our professional achievements.  We made Arizona our home in 1996 and in 1999 opened our own art studio and gallery in Carefree.  My artwork has been juried into many of the art festivals in the Phoenix valley, as well as select fine art events in California and Colorado, such as: the Fine Art & Wine Festival (Carefree, AZ), the Arizona Fine Art Expo, the Scottsdale Fine Art & Chocolate Festival, the Southwest Arts Festival (Indio, CA), the Fountain Hills Fine Art Affaire, the Aspen Fine Art Festival, the Avon Festival of Fine Arts, the Beverly Hills Art Festival in the Park, Scottsdale Celebration of Fine Art, and others.
